This notice explains how account, payment and usage information is handled. Acknowledging it is separate from agreeing to investment terms or consenting to marketing.
1. Who handles your data
Big Brother Cooperative operates this platform. The registered business name and contact details, when supplied by the administrator, appear below and on the Help page. Direct privacy questions and requests to the published support contact.
2. Information collected
The platform processes your phone number, password hash, referral relationships, account identifiers, bank details, balances, investment records, reward activity and transaction history. It also processes information you submit in community posts or support requests. Identity and source-of-funds information may be requested if required for a product or a compliance check.
3. Purposes and lawful bases
Account and transaction information is used to provide the service and carry out your instructions. Relevant records may be processed to meet legal obligations, prevent fraud, protect the platform and resolve disputes. Where consent is the appropriate basis for an optional activity, that consent should be requested separately. A privacy acknowledgement does not authorise unrelated marketing.
4. Sharing and service providers
Hosting, database and payment-related providers process information needed to operate the platform. The current implementation uses Supabase for application records and Paystack services for bank-related functions. Vendors receive transaction and bank details needed for the trade they handle. Authorised administrators can review account and transaction information. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to investigate fraud or resolve a dispute.
5. Community visibility
Content submitted to the community area may be visible to other users. The interface may display a masked phone number, a date and payout-related information. Avoid including personal information you do not want other people to see. Masking a phone number does not make a post anonymous.
6. Cookies and external resources
A session cookie is used to keep you signed in. The website also loads font resources from Google, which involves a request from your browser to that provider. Browser or hosting logs may contain technical details such as an IP address and request information. This notice does not provide consent for optional advertising tracking.
7. Retention and protection
Account and transaction records are kept for service delivery, reconciliation, dispute handling and applicable record-keeping obligations. Retention depends on the record and the reason it is needed; it is not necessarily ended by stopping use of the account. Access controls and password hashing help protect information, but no online system can guarantee complete security.
8. International processing
Service providers may process information outside Nigeria. Where applicable, transfers must use the safeguards required by relevant data-protection law. Contact the company for information about the arrangements that apply to your data.
9. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information, or object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it for future processing. Identity verification may be needed before acting on a request, and some records may need to be retained. You may also raise a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
10. Checkout acknowledgements and updates
When you acknowledge the documents before an investment purchase, the platform records the document version and text, account identifier, server timestamp and request context. This provides evidence of what was presented and acknowledged. Updates to this notice are versioned; contact the company if a change or a data use is unclear.
